STUDIO NOIR · Daily Rituals
Phase 1 boutique reality: no full-time staff, class-day-based operations, small team.
Phase 2 flagship expands to full-day hotel operations with pre-shift huddles, MOD coverage, and multi-tier staffing.
1. Phase 1 daily rhythm
STUDIO NOIR Phase 1 is not open all day. It’s a class-schedule-driven operation.
- Class days: Tue, Wed, Thu, Fri, Sat, Sun (12 classes per week, roughly 2 per day)
- Open hours per class day: 6 AM to 9 PM (though most activity is around class times: 6:45-8:15 PM weekdays; 9 AM-12 PM weekends)
- Between-class: studio is generally empty except for Studio-tier open floor hours (Wednesday and Friday afternoons)
- Cleaning: external service visits 2x per week (typically Monday and Thursday overnight)
2. Pre-class prep (30 minutes before class start)
Executed by the incoming class instructor with help from the Studio Manager if available.
5-minute walk-through
- Prosecco chilled and topped off in reception cooler
- Fresh Zalto flutes ready
- Cucumber-citrus water pitcher full and cold
- Signature scent detectable at reception
- Music playlist queued (per Trill’s brand-approved library)
- Restroom stocked (soap, hand cream, tissues)
- Lighting set to 2700K warm, dimmable
- Reception vase has fresh flowers
Studio floor prep (10 minutes)
- Pole rigs wiped with 70% isopropyl on microfiber (never wet-mop on grip surface)
- Sprung floor swept, quick damp-mop if needed
- Mirror wall wiped
- Sound system tested, class playlist ready
- HVAC set to target temp (68-72°F) and airflow
- Class schedule board updated
Concierge prep (5 minutes)
- Booking list for today’s classes reviewed (member names, first-time visitors, milestone members)
- Prosecco flutes polished
- Signature scent output verified
10 minutes before class
- Doors open. Whoever’s on the reception (instructor, Studio Manager, Taj, Tia) is standing, ready.
- Signature scent noticeable.
- Music playing softly.
3. During class
- Instructor teaches the class per curriculum (see 03_CONCEPT_PROGRAMMING/02)
- Music, lighting, HVAC held at class settings
- Reception may be unstaffed if only one person on-site and that person is teaching (this is acceptable Phase 1 — members are in class)
- Any drop-in or waitlist member who arrives during class is greeted by the instructor when they emerge at class end
4. Post-class close
Executed by the class instructor or Studio Manager. Takes 15-20 minutes.
- Members thanked, farewell delivered by name
- Chilled hand towel offered to members as they leave (from small brass tray at reception)
- Water bottle offered for those who want one for the road
- Pole rigs wiped with 70% isopropyl (base to top, dried, spin-tested)
- Sprung floor swept
- Mats/props sanitized with Force of Nature hypochlorous solution
- HVAC ventilation cycle for 5 minutes (window open if weather permits, otherwise higher airflow)
- Music transitioned to closing playlist (softer)
- Restrooms wiped down (basic touch points, not deep clean — that’s the cleaning service)
- Reception tidied, empty flutes collected
5. Between-class hours (open floor for Studio tier)
Wednesday and Friday, 2-5 PM. Studio-tier members can enter with keycard for solo practice.
- Studio Manager remotely monitors booking software
- Members self-serve using existing setup
- No staff on-site
- Members lock up when they leave (auto-lock via keycard system)
6. Weekend classes (Saturday-Sunday)
Similar pattern as weekday classes, with more member social time between classes: - Saturday: 3 classes (9 AM cohort opening, 10:30 AM, 12 PM) - Sunday: 2 classes (10 AM, 5 PM monthly Editorial or Pole Conditioning)
Sunday afternoon may include a member social event (quarterly, per programming calendar in 03_CONCEPT_PROGRAMMING/02).
7. Monday (dark day)
No classes. Trill + Studio Manager admin day.
- 30-minute cash + operations review with Taj (first Monday of month) or Trill solo (other Mondays)
- Review prior week: class fills, member notes, incidents (if any), reserve balance
- Handle any escalations
- Update the member profile spreadsheet
- Order supplies (prosecco, cleaning products, small merch inventory)
- Confirm cleaning service visits for the week
8. Weekly deep clean (external cleaning service)
Twice per week (typically Monday and Thursday overnight):
- Full mop of all floors
- Full restroom clean (toilets, sinks, mirrors, floors, fixtures)
- Locker area cleaning
- Reception polish
- Trash out
- Recycling out
- Restock cleaning supplies
Cleaning service is contracted. Studio Manager verifies quality every Tuesday morning walk-through.
9. Monthly rituals (Phase 1)
- First Monday: Founder Financial Review (Taj + Trill, 30 min)
- Third Sunday: Rigging visual inspection by lead instructor (informal). Any concerns escalate to Trill for engineer follow-up.
- Last Sunday: Trill or Tia walks the studio when closed. Notes any amenity that’s out of stock, worn, or drifted from standard.
10. Quarterly rituals (Phase 1)
- Rigging load test verification by licensed structural engineer (see 07_OPERATIONS/02_SAFETY_LIABILITY)
- Insurance walkthrough with broker at renewal
- Manual review of this operations manual, resigned by Taj + Trill
11. Phase 1 hospitality touchpoints per member visit
Minimum touchpoints from door to door:
- Door greet by name at arrival
- Prosecco/beverage offer within 30 seconds
- Instructor greeting at class entry, by name
- Instructor cue during class (if the member is doing something notable — a first invert, a good spin — acknowledged briefly)
- Post-class farewell with chilled hand towel offer
- Water bottle offer for the road
- Door farewell by name
If a visit clocks fewer than 5 of these 7, it’s logged as an Amenity Miss.
12. Turnover between classes Phase 1
Target: 15 minutes end of class to next class ready.
Pole studio, 15-minute turnover: 1. Instructor thanks class, sends members toward reception for hand towel 2. Wipe each pole (base to top) with 70% isopropyl on lint-free microfiber 3. Sprung floor swept and quick damp-mop 4. Mats/props sanitized with hypochlorous solution 5. HVAC purge cycle (higher airflow for 5 minutes) 6. Music cued for next class 7. Studio ready by 15-minute mark
If turnover can’t complete in target window, we cancel the second class rather than start it rushed. Trill notified.
13. VIP handling Phase 1
Occasional VIP visits (Trill’s network makes this likely).
Pre-arrival (T-24 hours): - Trill confirms VIP flag with Studio Manager - Preferred class + drink pre-noted
Pre-arrival (T-30 min): - Studio Manager or Trill personally at reception - VIP’s booked class instructor briefed silently
During visit: - Direct escort to changing area - Silent phone protocol for anyone present - No staff photos, ever, without VIP’s explicit repeated ask
Departure: - Personal farewell by Trill or Taj if in the building - Handwritten thank-you card mailed within 24 hours
14. Incident log (Phase 1)
One log kept in Google Sheets or Airtable. Every entry has:
- Timestamp
- Level (1-5 per 00_OPERATIONS_MANUAL Section 5)
- Type: Amenity Miss, Service Failure, Facility Failure, Safety, Existential
- Location zone
- Member(s) involved
- Staff involved
- Description in plain language, factual
- Action taken at the time
- Follow-up owner and due date
- Comp issued and value
- Closed by, closed date
Every incident logged within 60 minutes.
- Level 1, 2: reviewed at next Monday cash review
- Level 3+: Trill notified immediately via SMS
- Level 4+: Trill notified within 15 min via call, Taj notified within same window, counsel looped within 60 min
15. What Phase 1 daily rituals NEVER look like
- Taj running a mop or towel run
- A member unnamed after prior visits
- A pole not wiped between users
- A robe reused (we don’t stock robes Phase 1)
- Music played through a phone speaker anywhere
- Any staff member on personal phone in a member zone
16. Phase 2 daily rituals (preserved for reference)
Phase 2 flagship daily rituals expand significantly:
Full pre-open sequence 5-5:45 AM: facilities walk (HVAC, water, cold plunge chemistry, rigging visual, life safety, IT), front-of-house prep (prosecco chilled, flutes polished, florals rotated, music queued, lobby scent audit), locker room prep (per-member prep with robes/slides/kit/water/amenity kit), recovery deck prep (sauna heated, steam heated, cold plunge chemistry logged, contrast showers tested, cucumber water carafes filled), training floor prep (poles wiped, mats laid, aerial inspected, class boards updated), café/lounge prep (espresso machine dialed in, smoothie stations prepped, retail dusted), 15-min all-hands standup.
Operating hours cadence: peak block 6-10 AM (2 concierge, class + recovery + retail programming), midday 10 AM-4 PM (lower staff, deep clean rotation), peak block 4-8 PM (full staff, evening menu, DJ or curated playlist), wind down 8-10 PM (final sauna, no new cold plunge entries after 8:30, F&B last order 8:45).
Formal turnover procedures (10-15 min per studio, cart-based, autoscrubber, Bar Keepers Friend for pole grip residue).
Full close procedure 9-10:15 PM: doors close to new entries, all guests departed check, recovery close (sauna wipe with cedar oil, steam drain, cold plunge skim + chemistry log + cover), locker room close (all lockers cleared/wiped, laundry bagged, shower scrub, floor mop, toilet scrub with red microfiber), studio close (poles Bar Keepers Friend + isopropyl + polish, mats stacked, HVAC overnight setpoints), café/retail close (espresso backflush, blender deep clean, retail reconcile), facilities close (BMS overnight mode, alarm armed, cameras confirmed), 10:15 PM handoff note.
Weekly extended deep clean (Sunday overnight, floors buffed, pole rigs top-to-base inspected, HVAC filter check).
Monthly ritual cadence (first Sunday: certified rigging inspection; second Sunday: HVAC contractor; third Sunday: sauna cedar treatment; last Sunday: cold plunge full sanitization and filter replacement).
Full Phase 2 daily rituals spec preserved from earlier planning, rebuilt in 2028 alongside Phase 2 GM hiring and full staffing model.
