STUDIO NOIR · Member App Spec

Phase 1: no custom app. Booking software (Mariana Tek) has its own mobile app that members download.

Phase 2: consider a branded STUDIO NOIR wrapper app for member communication + content library.

Phase 3: full digital platform (streaming, community, remote membership).

Phase 1: use Mariana Tek’s native app

Members download the Mariana Tek app (branded per studio configuration), log in with their STUDIO NOIR account. Through that app: - Browse class schedule - Book classes - Cancel/waitlist - View their profile - Update payment info - View past attendance - Contact studio (email or call)

Mariana Tek handles UI/UX at the app level. STUDIO NOIR customizes: - App icon (STUDIO NOIR logo) - Splash screen (Fraunces Italic wordmark on Soft Cream) - Class titles + descriptions - Studio branding within the app (limited)

Cost: included in Mariana Tek subscription (~$500/mo).

Why no custom app Phase 1

  • Custom app development: $50K to $150K minimum for a basic member app
  • Ongoing maintenance: $2K to $10K/month
  • Doesn’t move the needle on Phase 1 metrics (Mariana Tek app is fine for booking)
  • Money better spent elsewhere Phase 1

Phase 2 branded app (optional consideration)

Once Phase 2 flagship opens with 400+ members, a branded STUDIO NOIR wrapper app becomes worth considering:

  • Enhanced branding beyond what Mariana Tek allows
  • Push notifications for members-only events, milestone congratulations
  • In-app content library (recorded classes from Phase 2)
  • In-app member community (member-only feed, member events RSVP)
  • Concierge chat (member texts a real person, not a chatbot)

Options: - Build custom on top of Mariana Tek’s API: $100K-$250K - Use a white-label club app (e.g., Guusto, Nomo, or comparable): $2K-$5K/mo

Decision deferred to 2029 alongside Phase 2 planning.

Phase 3 digital platform (Streaming + Community)

Phase 3 (2032+) launches STUDIO NOIR Digital: remote and travel-friendly membership with recorded classes, coach follow-alongs, member community, and THE NOIR INVITATIONAL archive.

Full digital platform spec rebuilt in 2031.
